Dental plaque is the cause of tooth decay
Dental hygiene is one of the key pillars of preventing the health of your mouth. It is a set of preventive measures and regular procedures that are necessary to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
It is important to say that tartar is not hereditary. The cause of its occurrence is insufficient dental care for the teeth and gums.
Plaque is the cause of tooth decay and the most common cause of diseases of hard and soft dental tissues in the oral cavity. If it is not removed regularly, its mineralization creates tartar.
Tartar is formed on the surface of the teeth from a soft, poorly removed coating (plaque), which each one of us can clean by using a toothbrush correctly. The initial symptom of improper oral hygiene is accumulated plaque on the teeth, redness of the gums, or swelling (gingivitis - gum inflammation).
If it is not removed, there is irreversible damage to the soft tissues and bone that hold the tooth firmly in the bed. And later it can lead to wobble and subsequent tooth loss (periodontitis).
Dental hygiene must be passed at least once a year. We recommend coming to us at least 2-3 times a year.
Dental hygiene takes place in several almost painless steps:
removal of the largest deposits using ultrasound,
detailed teeth cleaning with special tools (curettes),
Air-flow or sandblasting, which removes all plaque residues and teeth staining (coffee, tea, red wine, cigarettes). Sandblasting of teeth is a method of mechanical removal of pigmentation from teeth using powder jetting in a stream of water and air.
polishing teeth with a special polishing paste
teeth cleaning instruction with home oral hygiene tools (as needed).
